HDR projects platin offers maximum scope in post-processing of your HDR images. HDR projects platin includes five different tone mapping algorithms that are optimized for specific situations in the scene. All local tone mapping algorithms are procedures in which tonal range is calculated based on the surrounding contrast. In addition, HDR projects platin offers a variety of presets and the ability to combine presets and create your own.

Presets (Default settings)

Die Voreinstellungen unterteilen sich in sieben unterschiedliche Kategorien. Um ein Voreinstellung auszuwählen, klicken Sie auf das entsprechende Vorschaubild.

  • Natural
These preferences are for the most natural look and do not change the HDR image to a large extent.
  • Landscape
The landscape preferences are specially optimized tone mapping and post-processing effect chains for working with landscapes. Preferences such as “night shot” and “sunset” provide solutions for almost any landscape shot.
  • Monochrome
With these preferences, you can convert your images into various black & white or grayscale images.
  • Surreal
Surreal preferences are extreme variations of tone mapping and post-processing effects.
  • Architecture
The architecture preferences are specially selected tone mapping and post-processing effect chains for the post-processing of architectural images such as churches, half-timbered buildings, or even indoors.
  • Artistic
The artistic preferences are the “playful” area. Here you will find special settings for everyone such as “impressionistic”, “antique photo” or “comic.”
  • Custom
All custom presets are stored in this category.

The default settings have different features you can find on the right side next to the thumbnail.

HDR projects: preset functions

The top two functions are available for all presets:

  • Duplicate preset
This creates a copy of the preset to the category “Custom”.
  • Restore to saved default setting
This function sets the preset back to the saved state so you can safely change the processing preferences and restore them again at any time.
This function is only active when you have made a change.

The lower three functions are solely for self-created presets. This will protect your saved data. In this way, we ensure that the processing preferences provided are always available and will not be overwritten or deleted by mistake.

  • Overwrite default setting
When you click the overwrite function, the preset setting will be overwritten with the current settings. The previously saved settings will be lost. This function is only active when you have made a change.
  • Rename default setting
Use this to rename a custom preset. Enter a new name and confirm with OK.
  • Delete default setting
Click the Delete button to permanently delete a preset. The removal from your database occurs after a confirmation dialog.

Presets combine

To combine two presets, use the combine default settings button at the bottom:

In this example, the preset “Sharp Contours” from Architecture is combined with the preset “Vintage” in the artistic category to create a new preset “Sharp Contours + Vintage.”

Note:
The order in which you connect two presets has a significant influence on the result. Simply try different variants, because there are often unexpected visual effects here.
